What lessons can nature teach us about teacher career change (and life)?

Picture this…

I receive another telephone call. It is a teacher (T) wanting some advice. T is notably upset on the call. T describes being ‘exhausted’. T don’t know ‘how much longer I can go on doing this.’ T doesn’t know what to do, stating ‘I feel so helpless – I cannot go on like this but I cannot leave my job either.’ T is trapped, lost, confused. The situation feels desperate.

Don’t worry. I can help T. I specialize in helping people who feel lost or stuck at a crossroads find their right new path so they have the confidence to move forward and live a life they’ll love. T is at this very moment someone I am working with – T called for help.

But at this very moment, there are people who are experiencing similar feelings who do not ask for help. So perhaps I can remind you of the benefits of nature in a slightly different way. We all know that getting outdoors in a natural environment is a great source of exercise, positive for physical and mental wellbeing, and a sanctuary of calm ‘thinking space’. But what can nature teach us about career change?

The seasons of change.

Seasons in nature serve a fundamental important cycle of renewal. Nature doesn’t get stuck before changing from winter to spring, it positively embraces it. Nature loves change and does it with rigor.

As with life, careers have seasons. A new career is positively embraced and you learn with rigor to reap the future benefits in the sunshine season of your career. But after Spring and Summer, the career path can start to feel a little stagnant and jaded, energy sags and without the positive stimulation of the sunshine, things are duller as the clouds form. Unless action is taken to spring into a new direction (a new role, a new career path, new project…) then winter comes. There is more darkness, the career feels colder and as enjoyment falls away like leaves, leaving behind empty branches stripped bare and exposed to the harsh realities of the conditions. And it was here that I met T.

Nature doesn’t stay in permanent winter. It is not stuck in the dark. Natures just keeps on moving on because it is only in embracing change that Spring will come bounding around the corner with energy and rigor of new life.

What I do is help you move from stuck in the dark to embracing the unlimited possibilities of new life, guiding you a process that is proven to unlock your right new path. You will find the career that fits your perfect season and SPRING into a new life you’ll love.

Don’t sit in winter – this isn’t Narnia.

Embrace change by taking one action today – message me.
